As the fear around the town that the king was going to burn everything, and build a new town out of those who stay loyal to the royal growing, the townspeople had a choice, burn in the hell soon to be created by the Knights of Lancross. Many hundreds pledged loyalty to the king, only about three hundred stayed away, refusing to pledge loyalty, and would burn. Cail’s parents, still unforgiving of the pain the king has caused them, having tried to kill their son, just for his abilities and powers, refused to join.
3 months after Cail’s escape from Lancross, the town was to be burned, it was on every stone, wall, and roof that would be burned that:
“By royal decree of his royal highness, King Rachlore has ordered the town to be burned. No house, person or animal will be untouched unless you have pledged your unwavering loyalty to the royalty of Lancross.”
There was a countdown clock to the day of the burning it read:
